NO
Period
Stick to your “contract” to perform a certain amount of work in a certain period of time and, as Scrum Master (not the team!), work with senior managers or others to find another way to deal with an “emergency”. In over six years of leading agile projects using Scrum, I have never stopped a sprint. I’ve seen them stopped, I’ve seen disruptions and I’ve seen teams negatively impacted for the remainder of the project because of it. Once you do it, everyone loses respect for the fundamental principles of scrum.
Unless the project or the company folds, do not stop the sprint!
